Capabilities
Kodiak Precision will build 1911, 1911 clones, and Smith & Wesson
revolvers that exceed factory performance specifications, while also meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

- Slide to Frame Fitting
Strayer Voigt frames and slides lend themselves to superior results; however, Springfield Armory, Kimber, and Caspian
frames are also good bases for
custom guns. Near zero vertical and horizontal movement is achieved
through aerospace grade tolerances. A .0015 inch tolerance is allowed
for hard chrome applied by an aerospace certified plater. After this
application, tolerances are generally at .0005 inch. This translates to
virtually a perfect fit with the end result a smooth, piston-like feel.
- Barrel Fitting

- Bushing or Bull barrels, known by many top shooters for accuracy and
reliability, are installed with a vault-like tightness,
Head space is set minimum specifications, and chambers are reamed
specific to the bore diameter of the cartridge. Feed ramps are
cut and polished to a near mirror finish to improve reliability. All
barrels are re-crowned to match grade specifications.

- Quality triggers jobs customized to the specifications of the
competitive shooter or self-defense customer; glass rod break or a light roll off. Quality
fitting and finish of all parts to improve the gun's performance are
also factored in.. Additionally, all sharp edges are beveled or radiused to
benefit the shooter's comfort. Checkering and serrations can be
added or adjusted to the customer's preferences. Mag wells are fit and
funneled seamlessly to improve fast, reliable reloads during a match,
in duty use, or in a self-defense situation
High capacity magazines can be tuned for reliability to feed
correctly each and every time (with the proper length ammunition).
Sights
For Open Guns, the world leader, Aimpoint Comp is the recommended optical
sight. Aimpoint's reliability and lack of parallax make it the leader in
electronic red dot sights.
For Limited Guns, duty guns and/or self-defense handguns, Bomar, Novak, Heinie rear sights are world renowned
for their durability and are recommended by Don Golembieski.
Dovetailed front sights are generally the norm with plain, ramped, fiber optic
and tritium inserts.
Test Firing
All rifles are test fired with VihtaVuori powders and if applicable Lapua
components.
